Asher is Three!

Having a few friends over for a pool party seemed like the perfect way to celebrate a summer birthday! Asher was really looking forward to his party, and was most specific about his cake: it had to be CHOCOLATE and it had to be ROUND (he even pointed out a few things that are round to me, in case his mama didn't quite get the shape he had in mind...).






Asher you bring so much delight to our family with your affection, sweet demeanor, and fun-loving personality. We love, love, love, love you!!

Soccer Saturdays

Coach Shane started up soccer practice again this summer, so every other Saturday the boys look forward to kicking the ball around with their buddies. Asher loves that he is included and really hustles out there! A friend took these photos last Saturday:


During the last part of practice the kids have a short scrimmage. Asher runs around with a lot of energy, but doesn't usually get to touch the ball much. It's very cute. Toby gets in on the action, though!

Knee High by the 4th of July?

This was the 3rd year in a row that we have enjoyed our town's 4th of July parade! I was thinking about how much the kids have changed and grown over the last few years and wanted to compare pictures. The change is obviously more apparent in Asher, who unbelievably will be three this month!

Mariposa Fishing Trip

We had to squeeze a little more fun in to the month of June... So over the weekend we took a road trip (5 1/2 hours) north to to the mountains of Mariposa, CA (near Yosemite National Park) to visit our friends Jeremiah and Julie. We arrived Friday.

On Saturday Jeremiah, Tim, and Toby took off on a fishing expedition - Toby's first time fishing. He had a great time and they came home with an amazing catch of six (none of them whoppers...but Toby didn't seem to mind!) fish.

Asher did some of his own fishing, catching lots of imaginary fish.

That evening we were good and hungry for a hot-dog roast and s'mores!

YUM! Julie provided the delicious food. Toby and Asher were especially grateful for the marshmallows, much of which ended up on their faces!

Toby, who would LOVE to have a pet of his own, became very attached to Ebony...who for a secret reason all his own, he renamed Gwydeon. We have no idea where that name came from, but it was cute and made us smile every time.

We love it when our friends live in places that are fun to visit! (By the way, Jeremiah and Julie are expecting their first baby in August - YEAH!)
